Vic Simeoni
My condolences to Bob’s family. My name is Vic Simeoni and, during the early 1960s, I lived at 2510 Blackwood Street, Victoria, B.C., and Bob and his family were my next door neighbours. Bob, a few friends and I would have a great time shooting our B.B. guns at toy soldiers placed on mounds of dirt. Who thought of danger in those wonderful days of youth…! When my family moved from Blackwood Street, I lost touch with Bob, but, whenever driving by the old neighbourhood, my thoughts to back to those early days. Again, my deepest sympathies to you all. Vic.

Bob worked with me on my FCSS board. He would always come help me set up for meetings and was such a gentleman in every way. His last words to me , he told me to take care of myself and not work so hard… I am really going to miss you Bob.

The first time I visited Bob’s office I was thought to be Bob as he was on vacation and we resemble each other…the last time I was thought to be Bob’s brother was when I reported to Thorsby Village Office that Bob had passed away…I take it as a true compliment, especially on that day!

My husband and I came to know Bob a few years ago when he moved in two houses down the street from us. I really enjoyed him for his relaxed easy going personality and lighthearted sense of humor. He was a genuinely kind man who expressed himself with forethought and wisdom. He was extremely caring towards people as well as towards his beloved cats. He was sincere and generous to those who crossed his path. I know that we his neighbors have lost a great friend, we will greatly miss his tall sound presence walking down our street, gifting us with a big welcoming wave of his hand, warm smiles and honest laughter. God bless you Bob Burnett…Rob and I treasure your memory and will truly miss you until we meet again….Denise and Rob Wheeler…neighbors 2 doors down.

Bob will be greatly missed! I worked with him for a few years, and always enjoyed chatting with him. He was great with sharing his expertise so that others could learn from him, while always being open to advice from others.
