On March 27, 2016, Bob Robertson of Edmonton passed away at the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorrell; his sons: Don (Lori) of Edmonton, Ron (Brenda) of Leduc and Bill (Wendy) of Armstrong, B.C.; daughters: Joanne (Merv) Sagert of Leduc, Laurie (Dieter) Adam of Edmonton; grandchildren: Ryan (Jessica) Gates of Edmonton, Olivia Robertson of Armstrong, B.C., Kevin (Amanda) Sagert of Edmonton, Morgen Brooks-Robertson of Onoway, Tabea and Haley Adam of Edmonton and great-granddaughter; Miranda Gates of Edmonton; sisters: Margaret (Ken) Scott of Tsawwassen, B.C., Barbara (Jim) Dryden of Edmonton, Sylvia (Don) Massig of Sherwood Park; brother Bill (Sandra) of Edmonton; sister in-law Gail (Ray) Barnes of Edmonton and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren in his extended family. Bob was predeceased by his father Darrell; mother Marnie; brother Ron; and sisters: Linda and Thelma.
Bob and Dorrell shared over 61 wonderful years together and he will be dearly missed by Dorrell, his family and friends. Bob served in the Royal Canadian Artillery as a gunner before joining the Edmonton City Police in 1951 where he spent 30 years serving the people of Edmonton. He was a founding member of the Edmonton Police Pipe Band and the Edmonton Police Retired Members Guild. After leaving the Edmonton Police Department he spent 10 years as an investigator with Alberta Social Services until his final retirement in 1993.
A Funeral Service for Bob will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sherwood Park Alliance Church at 1011 Clover Bar Rd, Sherwood Park, AB, with a one hour prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnifred Stewart Association or the Salvation Army in Bob’s memory.
