1927-2020
It is with sadness and love that we announce the passing of Ray Riske, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ray passed into the presence of his Saviour on December 26, 2020.
Ray was born in Edmonton to Emil and Emilie (née Seutter) Riske. He and his identical twin brother Roy grew up on the farm and later dairy farmed together. In 1958 he married Jennie Egert and they raised 3 daughters.
Ray will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 62 years, Jennie; daughters Carolyn (Kim), Berniece (Randy), Grace (Sean); grandchildren Laura (Alex), Jillian (Peter), Nolan (Megan), Mark, Ross, Emilie, Raelyn; and great-granddaughter Gia. Also mourning his passing are sister-in-law Lorraine, the Egert families, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ray was predeceased by his twin brother, Roy.
A private graveside family service will be held on December 31, 2020. Those who wish to virtually attend can do so at 1:30 pm at https://youtu.be/Z_ZTgtt5-zk. Once COVID restrictions are lifted, a celebration of Ray’s life will take place.
The family is grateful to Shepherd’s Care Millwoods for the love and care Ray received.
If so desired, donations can be made in Ray’s memory to “Millwoods Community Church” for local mission projects.

We were saddened to hear of Ray’s passing but rejoice he is now enjoying the glories of heaven in perfect health – along with Roy and his Bruderfelt cousins. We remember Ray as one of the gentlest of gentlemen, a true man of God who took a genuine interest in others. Our lives were truly enriched for having known him. May God comfort your hearts.

Ray (and his twin) challenged me to tell them apart. But he kind and gentle demeanor he demonstrated were an inspiration and positive influence in my childhood. May jennie and the family find comfort and hope in the assurance that he is in the nearer presence of God.

Thoughts and prayers going out to the Riske family. Many fond memories of a man who was truly Gods servant. I will always remember him for encouraging words, positive outlook and dedication to Gods words and teachings. His life was an example to many.
