RAE, Douglas Keith

-

On June 26, 2017, at the age of 61, Keith passed away peacefully at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, AB after living life to the fullest right up to the end of his battle with Cancer.

Keith was born in Dawson Creek, BC, raised in St. Albert, AB, and settled down to raise his family on an acreage northwest of Stony Plain, AB.  During his life Keith extensively travelled and found a love for sleepy little beach town in Costa Rica called Playa Hermosa which he came to call his second home every winter for the past 15 years.

Keith being an avid fisherman all his life turned his passion for fishing from a hobby into an award winning, successful business called Get Hooked Fishing Adventures. He ran his company and advocated for our lakes and rivers for the past 23 years. He always said he had the best job and office, outside giving people memories that would last them a lifetime.

Keith touched so many lives around the world. He was a loving and generous father, a deeply devoted Papa to his grandchildren, a brother and friend to all. He will be greatly missed.

Keith is survived by his loving partner Christy Janzen, his son Erik, daughter Kirsten and her husband Terence Hogan, his beloved grandchildren Rowan and Nya, brother Bruce, sister Lee and her husband Andy Williams, brother Jim and his wife Dawn, all his nieces and nephews, the mother of his children Heather O’Neil, and his second mom Pat McRae and the McRae Family.

Keith was predeceased by his mother Christina, father Doug and brother Neil. A special thank you to Dr. Christian Fuchs of Stony Plain.
