Yuyuan Qian, age 77 of Chong Qing, Sichuan, China, passed away peacefully on Thursday Aug 11, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born to the late Zhen Han Qian (father) and late Wei Yin Tang (mother) on February 18, 1945. Predeceased by 2 brothers, she is survived by 2 other brothers and 2 sisters, son Su Tan (Jun Xiao), grandson Zining Tan, all of China, daughter Xinru (Peter), and grandsons Jaden and Cohen.
Yuyuan grew up in Kunming China. At age 13 she left home to work as an intern at a herbal shop and factory. There she gained knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and methods of producing herbals. The factory financed further training for Yuyuan and later on she worked as a herbalist in Kunming. She was very generous and supportive of her family. While working as a youth she sent home 80% of her earnings to support her parents and 6 siblings. Yuyuan became a single parent in 1997 and to support her children, Xinru and older brother Su Tan, she had to work 2 jobs. Yuyuan faced many challenges in life but remained stalwart. She herself had not the opportunity for higher education but wished her children could attain such distinction and could explore other parts of the world. Yuyuan was a loving parent to Xinru and Su Tan and doted on her three grandchildren.
She came to Canada in 2012 for the birth of Jaden. It was then she came to learn more about Jesus Christ. She became a christian and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church in August of 2012. We are elated that she is now in a better place.
