Ludy was incredibly dedicated to community service and generously committed her time and energy volunteering with numerous non-profits organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society, The United Way, Syrian Refugee Relief, her local Church and many others. She was a vigorous reader and consumer of books, an animal lover, and a true patriotic Canadian. Ludy was predeceased by her first son Jeffrey, father Acacio, mother Satira, brothers Noyel, Percy and Hernes number 1. A celebration of life will announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation in Ludy’s name, to the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Edmonton branch. Dear Raymond and families

There can never be enough words to do justice to describe Ludy, my dearest friend who will be sorely missed forever. Ludy was a remarkable person that I had ever met in my life and a wonderful, classy lady with a beautiful soul. Her caring ways, her infectious laughs and helpful nature epitomised her. Life was never about her but for the people around her. She was everyone’s true and helpful friend.

To you Raymond, your families and all friends and relatives, my condolences and thoughtful silences that whisper softly of caring. Life, as it is such… does not and cannot prepare anyone for this eventuality. We are all hurting for our great loss. May the Lord give us all the strength and courage to bear the loss of this magnitude and pray for her soul to rest in eternal peace in heaven. Amen.

Dearest Raymond, David and Jeremy,
We loved Ludy very much!!! So many memories from when we were young in Fort McMurray playing at your guys house, her beautiful smile and laugh and spirit really impacted me at that young age. Her laughing as we coasted over and over down the stairs with you guys in your Fort McMurray house. I remember the camping trips and times together in St.Paul and then also times in Edmonton when we would get to see her at my parents’ house. I am so thankful to have gotten to spend such a good amount of time in my formative years around your mom, sometimes it is in times like these that you realize the most how an individual has had such a positive impact on you. I always felt so loved and warm in her presence, with her smile and kindness, her friendliness, warmth and understanding. I too am glad that she is no longer suffering and that she is now close with many of her loved ones in heaven!! Love the 3 of you very much, the 3 of you are part of all these amazing, warm and wonderful memories and we are and have been thinking about you sooo much!!!❤️Grateful for Aunty Ludy’s and your lives and being able to have been in her and your lives and she and you in ours!! Thankful for what Aunty Ludy has taught us about life and thankful Aunty Ludy is at rest and peace!!❤️❤️❤️
With love,

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Raymond, Jeremy/Sarah, David/Kait, Ludy’s siblings and their families. A very difficult time for all of you, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Ludy was a wonderful, intelligent, kind woman and a beautiful person, both inside and outside. She was blessed with a heart of gold, always kind and compassionate, never an unkind word or deed. You gave so much of yourself to your family and friends, Ludy, and we will miss you very, very much.

Ludy had many interests and pursued them with passion. We shared a love of reading, a love for music and the arts, bird watching, political debates, discussing parenting, exchanging fitness tips and much, much more.

Words cannot describe the loss and numbness we feel now, for we have lost a loving and loyal friend.
Rest in peace, our beautiful friend.

Everything.
Reminds us of you.

Tony & Cellie Gonsalves

Dearest Angelo & Kamala,

Ludy left us all far too soon. Though she is no longer with us, there is nothing that can take her from your memory and the things you shared with her. Nothing will ever replace the space in your heart that your sister occupied. If you keep that space filled with her memory and your experiences together, she’ll always be there with you.

We have no words that will make you feel any better because we know that this is an incredibly difficult time for you. Plus words don’t do justice to how we feel for you right now, as you bear the burden of the passing of Ludy.

We are thinking of both of you and the family, praying for you, and interceding on your behalf; that the Lord brings all of you strength, peace, and comfort at heart, through these difficult times.

If there is any way we can share this burden with you to help you through, we are available to do so.

Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you and the family as you cope with the loss of Ludy. Please accept our deepest sympathies, and extend our condolences to the rest of the family.

In sorrow,

Tony & Cellie Gonsalves

I could not believe that dear Ludy passed away. I worked with Ludy in Dar and we sat together at the Toronto Reunion. She was a beautiful, perky, lady. Hope you remember me too, Raymond. Such happy memories come to mind. Ludy was too “young” to die. But we all know she is now at peace. God bless you all. Dear Ludy, even though so far away in Richmond, B.C., I feel the loss of you tremendously.
Love you all: Queenie
