With deepest sorrow, the family of Riley Michael Philpott born March 10, 1998, announce his tragic passing on March 23, 2022. Leaving to mourn him are his parents Ken and Patricia Philpott, along with his younger brother Brenden and grandparents George and Mary Hobbs. He is also mourned by a large extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Like his dad, Riley became a Power Engineer and worked as a Process Operator at the NWR Sturgeon Refinery, where his co-workers quickly became good friends. Riley was spontaneous, witty, and a world traveler. Most of all, he loved spending time with the special people in his life.
Riley was a huge animal lover. Once settled into his own apartment, he adopted two kitties, Gunnar and Kero, who quickly became his number one priority.
Riley, we are so proud of what you accomplished in your short time on earth. You brightened the day of many people with your laugh and caring soul. You gave freely of yourself never expecting anything in return. Our loss is Heaven’s gain!
A gathering with the family will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, 2:00 pm -6:00 pm at the family home (53 Creekside Close, Spruce Grove). All family and friends are welcome.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.
