Peter was born on November 22, 1961, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Helen and Ken Eng. Peter met his wife, Pam, in 1976, when they were in high school. They didn’t know they were in love yet so they just became friends. Peter attended the University of Saskatchewan and received a degree in Geology in 1985. He worked in Northern Saskatchewan in the field of exploration geology for the next 5 years. Peter and Pam’s paths crossed several times over the years but it wasn’t until 1990 that they realized that the friendship they had went beyond an ordinary friendship. They married on July 14, 1990 and began a relationship of love that continued to grow and deepen over the next 24 years. After the wedding, Peter attended the University of Alberta and received a degree in Civil Engineering in 1994.
In 1995 Peter’s life was forever changed by the birth of his daughter, Lian. It was love at first sight and he was a very doting father. His joy was increased with the birth of Quinn in 1998. Peter’s life was changed again when he was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 1998. Over the next 16 years, Peter battled on and off with his illness. During this time he lived a very full life. He was very active with his family, with his church and with his work. In June 2013 Peter had to step back from his position at Triton Projects as his illness had advanced to a degree that working was no longer possible. After that time, he continued to maintain an attitude of hope and confidence and was an inspiration to those whose lives he touched. On October 8, 2014, Peter took his last breath and went to be with his heavenly Father. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a caring father, and a stalwart friend. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Pam Goble, and their children Lian and Quinn, as well as his mother Helen and his brothers Henry (Jasmine), Ben, Dave, and Ed.
He was predeceased by his father Ken Eng.
