It is with great sadness that we share the news of Frank Pawlowski’s passing at age 98.
Frank was born near Spedden, Alberta to Victor and Ann (Ewaskiw) Pawlowski. Raised on a farm, he completed his high school by correspondence and later attended Olds College, U of A (BSc) and UBC (LLB). Prior to his studies at UBC, Frank worked as a district agriculturist in an area of the province encompassing Lamont and Two Hills. After graduating from UBC he moved his then young family to Edmonton where he practiced law for over four decades, both in private practice and with the Government of Alberta. Throughout his life, Frank loved and enjoyed his family (both immediate and extended), his friends and his animals, especially his horses.
As well as being predeceased by his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Politylo) Pawlowski, and by ten siblings, Michael, Jeannie and Mary (who passed away as infants). Paul and Sydney Pawlowski: Steven, Andrew and Stanley Powell, Barbara (Hancock) and Rose (Small). He is survived by: his brother Walter Powell, his sisters Josephine Draganiuk and Olga (Leo) Gauthier, his children Adrian (Janet) Pawlowski, Dennis (Loreen) Pawlowski, Eileen (Carl) Christensen, Michael (Gerry) Pawlowski, Maria (Julian) Dicastri, Laurie (John) Weinlick, Kathleen (Philip) Mulder, nineteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Divine Liturgy funeral service will be held for Frank at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church on December 31 at 10:00 am., with Rev. Fr. Janko Herbut celebrating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only the allowable number of family members will be attending. However, the service will be live-streamed through https://distantlink.com/SerenitySG.html.
