Patrick “Pat” Joseph Pare

-

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Patrick Pare announces his passing at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on the morning of Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the age of 78 years. Pat spent the majority of his working years on “the rigs”, starting at the bottom and working his way up to superintendant. Pat never did retire from work – Pat continued working as a guard for the RCMP and operated a lawn care and snow removal company – Pat was always on the go! If he was sitting around, it was to watch the Oilers or the Blue Jays. Pat will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Rosemary; wife, Diane; children, Dwayne, Denise, Sandra, Patti, Dillon (Amber) and Jeff (Jennifer); grandchildren, Dominic, Sabrina, Justin and Jerrica; mother-in-law, Ann Menning, as well as by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family. Pat will also be incredibly missed by the many wonderful friends and colleagues he acquired throughout the years. Pat was predeceased by his sister, Cecile Vanderleest in 1972; father, Edmund Pare in 1982 and father-in-law, John Menning in 1997. Pat’s life will be celebrated at the MacKenzie Conference Centre, 5745 – 45 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. The Pare family extends a very special “thank you” to Dr. Ryan White and the nursing staff at Drayton Valley Hospital for their gentle care and compassion. If so desired, memorial contributions in Pat’s name may be directed to the Cross Cancer Institute www.albertacancer.ca
