Parry, Olive

1928-2020

On August 21, 2020 Mrs. Olive Parry passed away at the age of 91 years.  Lovingly remembered by her children: Eric (Joanne), Jill (Joe), Janice, Gregory (Mehdi), grandchildren: Maurice(Yvonne), Jason, Shauna (Troy), Leanne, and Kelsey, and 2 great grandchildren Josie Rose and Ezra. Sister Joanne (Duwayne) and sister in law Dilys (Richard).  She was pre- deceased by her husband Neville Parry in 2010.

Olive was an energetic, vibrant resident of Fort Saskatchewan for over 60 years and was a well know figurehead in the community.  A life-time member of the Anglican Church Women, she was very active at St Georges Anglican Church and was a founding member of the Meals on Wheels organization, providing help and support to those in the community.

Olive’s strength, tenacity, love for her family, enjoyment of her many friends, compassion for animals and numerous talents made her a universally beloved pillar of our immediate and extended family.

Olive was known to always have an open door and she treated everyone she met as part of the family.  She had the gift of making everyone feel special.  She never stopped learning new things.  She was a smart and beautiful woman who was loved by many.

A private burial will take place. Once COVID restrictions are lifted a celebration of her life will occur.

We wish to acknowledge the expert care provided by the amazing staff at Our Parents Home, who supported our family over the last four and a half years while Olive was in their care.  During the last few months she was cared for by the team at Jubilee Lodge who helped us move through this final transition.

Memorial donations in Olive’s honor may be made directly to The Edmonton SPCA or the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital Foundation.
