PAGE, Faith

September 5, 2021, Faith Page entered the presence of her Lord and Saviour at the age of 74. She is lovingly remembered by Syd, her husband of 53 years, her children, Jonathan (Kim) and Kathryn (Rob), her siblings, Marv (Joyce), Audrey, and Tim (Allison), her grandchildren, Chris, Emma, Molly, and Sarah, and many nieces and nephews (who loved getting real Birthday cards from their Auntie Faith!).

Faith was a person who loved God, loved her family, loved kids, loved to travel, and loved to help others.

Having come to place her faith in Christ as a child, she sought to walk with him throughout her life. Scripture reading, prayer, and church involvement were always a part of her life. She especially loved old hymns that extolled the greatness of God, such as “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise” and “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.”

She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely, and she treasured the times she spent with them. One of her greatest joys was taking everyone to Hawaii to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. More recently, taking Sarah to local attractions such as the zoo or provincial museum would be the highlight of her week.

Faith’s love for children was not restricted to her own family. She thoroughly enjoyed the years she spent as a teacher’s aide with ABC Headstart. When she and Syd went to Cameroon, she volunteered to help in the campus nursery but also opened her home to local children. It was not unusual to find 7 or 8 kids drawing on the dining room table and floor or coming to the door to ask for a cookie from the nice lady.

Faith and Syd celebrated his retirement by taking a Holy Land cruise. They assumed that this would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience; however, they discovered that they really enjoyed it, and it became the first of several cruises. She loved meeting different people at meals, walking around the deck looking at the ocean, and visiting distant places. Next to the Holy Land, the cruise that gave her the greatest pleasure was a European river cruise with Ray and Marilyn Seutter.

Faith loved to serve and help others. She was always willing to help out in the kitchen after brunch at church and enjoyed helping with the single moms group. Hospitality was one of her great strengths. She looked forward to having our small group in her home. Getting together with friends and former colleagues from Taylor for a potluck brunch from time to time also gave her great pleasure.

A celebration of Faith’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on September 10, 2021. The service will be streamed online at faithpage.ca. Family and close friends are welcome to attend the service at Terwillegar Community Church. Masks are required.

Interment will take place at Rosehill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Mustard Seed or Cameroon – Chosen Children.

To the Family of Faith Page

Hello, my name is Sarah.I taught for many years with the ABC Head Start Program. In hearing about your very sad loss of your Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Mother-In-Law, I wanted to share my beautiful memories of whom I know as Faith Page.
We were blessed to have Faith participate in our classroom as often as she could come. Her presence was always like having a friend drop by to visit. She was a heartfelt colleague that naturally joined in to celebrate the cherished moments of our day with the children.
Faith’s genuine demeanour was contagious. She always brought a smile that was shared and a warmth in her voice that felt soothing.
We loved the days that Faith was with us!
I feel very fortunate to have spent time with her. She does hold a special place in my heart.
I know without a doubt, that she will remain in many peoples hearts for Faith had a special touch.
With sincere condolences.

Michael & Michele Bull

Michele and I share our condolences with the Page family for their loss of Faith , wife, mother and grandmother.
Faith was one of the people who first welcomed us to Terwillegar Community Church. Faith made our joining our faith community so much easier. Like Michele’s Mother, Stella who also passed away this last week. They are with the Lord. Mike and Michele Bull

Our hearts were broken when we heard of Faith’s sudden passing. We continue to pray for Syd and the entire Page and Warman family that our God would blanket you all with His peace and healing.
Faith will always hold a special place in our hearts. As a part of the Page’s HOME group, she was such an encouragement and source of support to us in our first years of marriage and especially as we entered into parenthood.
We will miss her smile. We will miss her heart. We will miss her comments on our Facebook posts . We will miss her presence.
Thank you to both families for allowing us to celebrate Faith’s amazing life and legacy with you. It was a beautiful tribute.
With much love,
The Baker family

When I went to ABC Head Start for my job interview more than 20 years ago Faith was the first person to greet me and welcome me warmly into the office. I had never had that experience at a job interview before and was a bit taken by surprise. Since that day I have shared many wonderful moments and memories with Faith. She was always so kind and supportive of me and was there for me in some very difficult times. I remember her yearly Christmas card drop offs and how it was so important that she not forget anyone. I enjoyed some lovely lunches out which we shared and was so excited for her when she discovered her love of cruising. I used to love when Faith came to sub in our classroom. I admit that we might not have gotten much work done as we couldn’t stop talking and catching up. Faith and I had spoke of getting together after this pandemic and I am saddened that this never came to pass. Faith will always hold a special place in my heart and my sincere condolences to her family.

I enjoyed working with Faith at NABC many years ago. She was a dear friend with whom I shared many laughs at work. She always lite up my life every time we happened to see each other. The last time we chatted was just a couple of weeks ago at Fort Edmonton Park. We both had grandchildren with us. It was so fun to catch up and chat together. She will be missed.

We do not mourn as those who have no hope but we do mourn. So sudden! So sad! Our hearts go out to you Syd and the whole family.
We always appreciated Faith’s heart for children with ABC Head Start. She was also always so sweet and kind to Tiana’s girls.
Thinking back fondly to the many times we attended live theatre at the citadel. The plays often led to lively discussions and of course this would be preceded by some fine dining.
In post Edmonton years when we visited Tiana we made sure to meet for coffee, often at La Boule and it was always so enjoyable to socialize with Faith over Sunday brunch at TCC.
Praying for God’s comfort in this challenging time and sending our ♥️.

I am so sorry to hear this news about Faith. She was a very friendly, empathetic woman with great energy abounding. She was always ready to assist where needed and in a very short time established a caring friendship.
