She is predeceased by her parents, Art & Hilda Hancock, and her siblings, Cam Hancock and Barb (Art) Hancock. After graduating high school in Marwayne in 1964, Jeanne continued her education at the Canadian Bible College. Jeanne and Terry met at Timberline Ranch Camp in 1965 and got married the following summer on July 30th, 1966. Jeanne’s remarkable career as a teacher began in 1969 and continued on until 2012. Jeanne brought Phil into the world on October 14th, 1971. 1975 marked a Christmas in the hospital as Jeanne’s daughter Leona was born on December 23rd. Over the years, Jeanne has lived in Marwayne, Edmonton, Hay Lakes, Camrose, New Sarepta, Grande Prairie, Sexsmith, Leduc, Millet, and Drayton Valley. At all of these places, either through her family, church, or teaching, Jeanne has touched the lives of many.
Jeanne was active and adventurous most of her life. She loved to play sports in high school, motorcycle & waterski during the summer, and snowmobile in the winter. Jeanne would explore in any season. Jeanne was a strong, loving, and faith-filled woman who would always go out of her way to support those around her. We were blessed to call her mom, grandma, and wife.
We invite you to join us in person for a Celebration of Life service in her honor at Leduc Community Baptist Church (3205 Coady Blvd Leduc, AB) on Saturday, September 3rd at 2 pm.
