December 18, 1929 – October 23, 2018
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Nick Zukowsky, of Edmonton, AB on October 23, 2018. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Joanne; his daughters, Rosy (Jim) Jefferson, Deb (Gary) Jefferson, Barbara (Domenic) Di Curzio, Cynthia (Gregg) Kenney, Cheryl (Gary) Kasianiuk and son Nicholas (Caron) Zukowsky; twelve grandchildren, (Lauren (Colin), Mackenzie, Morgan (Rory), Riley, Ryan (Chelsea), Dante, Dylan, Tanner, Beth (Cody), Tyler, Jack and Luke); five great- grandchildren (Katrina, Ava, Seth, Owen and Nola); sister, Anne (Bob) Hare, as well as by numerous family and friends.
Nick was predeceased by his daughter Nola Lamb and several brothers and sisters. He was a farmer, mechanic and a construction worker. When he was in Smoky Lake he volunteered at the Church by cutting the grass and helped out on the golf course. Nick liked going to the horse races, being in nature (picking all kinds of berries), watching birds, watching sports and listening to music like Harry Belafonte and Neil Diamond. Nick’s family would like to express sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. D. White and the team at Miller Crossing Care Centre for the excellent care, time and attention that they gave to Nick over the past several years.
As per Nick’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is planned for the summer of 2019 in Smoky Lake on Dad’s farm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
