Myrtle Irene Guenette of Edmonton passed away peacefully at the Shepherd’s Care facility in Millwoods on May 5th, 2018 at the age of 92. After suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease for more than 10 years, she finally joined her loved ones who have gone before her. The family is deeply thankful for the outstanding care she received from the third-floor staff during her years at Shepherd’s Care.
She was a fun-loving woman who never turned down an opportunity to add to life experiences. She often travelled abroad and across Canada and the United States. She was very easy going and quick to laugh. She was an avid reader and loved doing crosswords, but especially enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends.
Myrtle is survived by her 6 children, Dawn (Gerry) Walker, Denise (Ron) Johnson, Richard (Lenore) Guenette, Rosanne (Dan) Wuthrich, Michael (Carole) Guenette and Jacquie (Art) Netzlaff; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Maurice and her siblings Ruth, Gerald, Lillian and Margret.
It is with a heavy heart that we say farewell to our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie, and dear friend. A Celebration of Myrtle’s Life will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:00am at Church of Abundant Life, 7676 Wagner RD NW.
