Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Durant


On the morning of Saturday, January 14, 2017, Joan Durant passed away peacefully at Breton Long Term Care at the age of 83 years. Joan was born on January 24, 1933 to parents, Rose and Edward Kidd and had two siblings; her brother, Bernard and sister, Francis. Joan is lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 65 years, Calvin Durant; three daughters, Darlene (Val) Carnahan, Cecile (Alain) Caron and Sandra (Darren) Urkevich; six grandchildren, Jaime, Kyle, Kelly, Keri, Kristina and Chad and several great-grandchildren. Joan’s loss is also felt by many extended family and friends. Joan is predeceased by her grandson, Rodney Urkevich, her parents and her brother. A Service of Remembrance in honour of Joan will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Life Church, Drayton Valley at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Siegel Hill Cemetery at a later date. Joan’s family is extremely grateful to Dr. Botes and all of the staff at Breton Long Term Care and are very thankful for their exceptional care of their mother during her stay. Happy Valentine Day, Mama Joan
It’s now been four years since
your passing.
Since I was a young girl you have and
always will be my Mom, Aunt, Cousin
and Friend.
Along with myself And the family you left
behind really do miss you lots,
We also think of you and dad very much.
One day when Jesus calls me home ,
I will rest close to you, I finall purchase a
plot and purchase my custom made
headstone already placed in the cemetary
along with other family members.
You will always be in my heart and I love
and miss you very much.

Dear mama Joan, I am sad to hear of your passing.
You have always been my Aunt, Mom, Cousin, Friend
and you have shared and taught me so much in life and
I will always have you in my heart.
Since I was a very young girl being on both farms which
I hold special memories with the whole family and I
I have cherished the farm , farming chores and the love
of horses, Most of all the inspiration , love, and memories
during the summer and long weekend holidays We have spent together one on one and with family members
