MORROW, Doreen

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved mother and grandmother, Doreen, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 10, 2022, at the age of 79 years.

She will be forever cherished by her children Corinne (Paul) Fraughton, Katherine (Brooke) Bateman, and David (Crystal) Morrow; grandchildren Samantha and Lindsay Fraughton, Emily, Lukas, and Leah Bateman, and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Norman, her parents Hector and Dora Nadon, and her brother Rodney Nadon.

Doreen was born and raised in Saskatchewan where she met the love of her life, Norman. They married and lived in the Edmonton area, eventually settling in Fort Saskatchewan, where they raised their family. Doreen had a special connection with children and devoted many years to her career as a teacher’s aide. She was part of the St. John XXIII Catholic School Kindergarten program for almost 20 years, where she touched the lives of hundreds of children and families with her warmth, caring nature, and quick wit.

Doreen was a dedicated Oilers and Elks fan who also enjoyed golfing, curling, and long walks, along with gardening, reading, and travel. She loved to spend the summer holidays camping at Sylvan Lake. Doreen had the ability to make friends wherever she went and will be remembered for her fun-loving nature.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 10004-101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Following the Mass will be a reception and an interment.

In lieu of floral tributes, donations in Doreen’s honour may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and NWT.
