MENZIES-HAYDON, Minerva Grace (Bills)

It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and wife who passed away on October 27, 2021, at the age of 78 old. Her memory will be cherished by her husband Donald and her children, Lorinda and Lance (Paula), Jerome, Sonny, Janice and stepson Dwayne (Shirley) and her grandchildren Kylie, Tara, Dylan and Caley. Minerva was predeceased by her daughter Karen. She will also be remembered by a large extended family including all the children (and their children) who called her mom and auntie.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those who cared for her, including those at the Royal Alexandra and Glenrose Hospitals. Also, those who cared for her in the various dialysis centers.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Minerva to Samaritans Purse Canada, Winnifred Stewart Association, or the charity of your choice.

Minerva was born on March 19, 1943, to Grace and Johnny Bills in Edmonton. Minerva grew up in Entwistle, Alberta. She married and moved to Edmonton in 1961 as her plans were to become a nurse however in 1963 she had her first child, Lorinda and 13 months later Lance was born.

Since Minerva was an only child, there were always friends and relatives invited to share her home if they needed a place to stay. It didn’t take long before foster children were also included in the family. This is when Karen joined the family followed by Jerome, Janice and Sonny who she loved as her own.

One of her foster kids Debbie, introduced Minerva to her friend Don. He was captivated by this beautiful and caring woman, so he married her in 1987.

Over the next 40+ years she cared for many foster kids and even some of their kids and grandkids!

She touched many lives with her caring, compassion and giving heart in her 78 years and will be lovingly remembered by all!

Sorry, there are no details found...
