ROBERTS, Melvin (Michael)
July 4, 1945 – July 19, 2016
On July 19, 2016 Mel Roberts of St. Albert passed away at the age of 71 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mel will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his wife of 47 years Betty; son Randy (Sue) and his two grand-daughters: Amanda and Megan; cousins: Simone Marcantel, Reta (Bob) Patenaude, as well as his sister-in-law, Darlene Poyser; father-in-law, Ray Poyser; nephew, Tony (Jennifer) Poyser and family Jordan and Dylan and many wonderful friends.
Mel was predeceased by his parents Stacia and Mel Roberts; aunt Henrietta and uncle Pat Patenaude; his beloved Grannie, Roberta Kantor and grandfather, Albert Kantor; brother-in-law, Ken Poyser and mother-in-law, Helen Poyser.
Mel was very well known as a hockey coach in St. Albert as he was very passionate about hockey as well as golf. He was a conductor with the CN Railroad until his retirement. The family would like to thank his personal doctor, Dr. Allan McDonald for his dedication and care.
Cremation has taken place and honouring Mel’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
