MEEK-MITCHELL, Eulalee Marie

Eulalee Marie Meek-Mitchell (nee Meek) of Edmonton and formerly of Barracks River, St. Mary Parish, Jamaica departed this world to be at peace with our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the age of 60 years, after succumbing to a long and courageous battle with cancer and heart disease.

Eulalee loved the Lord with all her heart. Her kind soul and giving spirit touched so many and she will never be forgotten. Eulalee was born to Uriah Meek and Adella Meek (nee Pollock) of Buff Bay, Portland Parish, Jamaica in April 1961. Eulalee Marie Meek married Robert Elwood Mitchell of Edmonton (formerly of Leduc, Alberta) on July 14, 2012. After leaving Jamaica in 1991, Eula worked as a nanny in Wainwright, then moved to Edmonton where she worked as a nanny, security guard, prison guard, loss prevention officer, animal control officer, safety inspector, pipe coater, and an oil and gas labourer on new pipelines.

She is survived by her loving husband of 9 years, Robert (Bob) Mitchell. She is predeceased by 2 of her 5 siblings: Audrey Joyce Kurlew and Victor Chambers, and is survived by three siblings including her two brothers Owen Meek of Mount Vernon, NY and Devon Meek and a sister, Corlene Meek both of Jamaica. She has two children: Kadon Gray of Jamaica, and Troylon Webb of Edmonton. She also has a grandson Jordan Gray, nieces Gillian Meek and Samantha Meek, and a grand-niece Zakiya Morgan of Edmonton and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at Champion City Church located at 12709-52 Street in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, February 12 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dean Forster officiating. Eulalee will lay in state for viewing for approximately one hour (12:00 pm – 12:55 pm) before the service begins and again for a brief period following the service. As a result of the current COVID restrictions there will be no reception to follow the service, however lunch bags will be provided to everyone on a take-out to-go basis.

Eulalee requested burial, so there will be a brief interment committal to follow at 3:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Gethsemane located at 16102 Fort Road. The funeral procession will leave the church shortly after the service ends.

Glenn & Deb Skeldon

We are Bob Mitchell’s cousins from Saskatoon. We watched Eula’s celebration of life and were immensely blessed by it. We only met Eula once briefly, and clearly we missed getting to know a wonderful, Godly woman. Bob, we will continue to pray for you in the coming weeks . . . that God would grant you peace and strength. –love, Glenn & Deb

As a friend to Bob and Eula, I had the pleasure of attending their wedding, which I fondly remember. We got together socially on many occasions and Eula always exuded a great sense of welcoming and warmth. I could see that she had a big heart and felt things deeply. Every evening ended with a warm hug. She is gone far too soon and I will miss her. The world was better with her but now we must all walk without her. May warm memories offer much support to Bob and all of Eula’s family and friends.

I met Eula and Bob through my brother, Larry Karpo. I only had a couple of opportunities to spend an evening with them both, but the conversation was easy and congenial. I was so impressed with Eula’s talents and clear sense of adventure in the various jobs she’d had over the years. It was clear she was a very special lady and I would have loved to get to know her more. My condolences to Bob and family as you face the future without her. Keep her in your hearts.

Eulalee was a special friend to me. I dearly miss her. She was truly a lady who blessed us all. I will miss our great conversations about God. She had a great love for her God and that made a big impact on all those who knew her. Now heaven is blessed by her too. I can see her dancing around the throne of God and worshiping Him. I look forward to seeing her again and rejoice that she is with her Lord. Until then she will forever be in our hearts.
Thank you for being my friend Eulalee. You have left my heart full. ❤️❤️

Eula was my sister in law. She was dearly loved by myself, my wife, and our family. This is a huge loss to family and friends and she will be missed by all of us.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to my Brother in law Bob, Robbie and Justine, and Eula’s extended family.

I will miss Eula’s infectious smile, humour and her generosity. Her faith in Christ was evident and her walk with him was genuine.

Eula was my sister inlaw, and “so” much more.
She was a godly, spirit filled woman of the most amazing faith; an inspiration to myself over the time I’ve known her.
She was also funny and had a way of making you laugh when you’d least expect it.
Her life radiated kindness and generosity, and she saturated that life in prayer.
While I am deeply grieved to have lost her, I am grateful and beyond blessed to have known her.
Our loss is heaven’s gain, and Eula is gracing our lord’s presence with her big beautiful smile.
