Rod was born in Calgary, Alberta. As a teenager, he contributed to his family by delivering telegrams during World War II. He loved to dance and as a ballroom dance instructor, met the love of his life, wife and partner of 62 years, Olive. He was devoted to his wife and family.

After retirement, Rod spent time with his family and friends, following Oilers’ hockey, and putting his carpentry skills to use by doing renovations and home improvement projects for himself and his family.  Rod and Olive also took memorable vacations, which included the western United States and eastern Canada.

Rod was a wonderful, caring, kind, patient, and articulate person with a great sense of humour. He was happy to support the CNIB and was a recipient of their programs.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Good Samaritan CHOICE Program, and the Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre for their compassion, kindness, and care.
