It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billy McLellan on June 1, 2021, at the age of 56.
Billy is survived by his parents Phyllis and Edward McLellan, sister Katherine (Kath) McLellan, brother-in-law Gregor (Greg) Nutter, nephew Vessilij Nutter, and long-time friends Dave Forbes and Dave Panasiuk.
Billy was born in Edmonton, Alberta on June 24, 1964. After graduating from the Neon Tube bending School in Portland, Oregon, USA in 1987, the Neon Sign business took Billy all over North America (Victoria, B.C.; Vancouver, B.C.; The United States: Delaware, Georgia, Las Vegas, Maui; and Grand Caymans). Billy loved scuba diving, skiing, travelling, drawing, and was passionate about dogs.
After his nephew Vessilij was born in 2002, Billy decided it was time to return to his roots and family and come back to Edmonton. He left the Neon Tube bending business and returned to Edmonton in the summer of 2003. Billy was working at a job he loved and for a great boss at Canadian Tire in Windermere.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
Due to COVID restrictions, the planned funeral service will only include immediate family and a few close friends.

Billy’s smile engaged everyone – his sense of humour kept us laughing – his kindness toward the animals and the little ones among us was unmatched. His kindness toward all of us is remembered with fondness and gratitude. We’ve never seen a better “unc”. Our hearts are with all of you, and we take solace in our treasured memories of Billy.

Heartfelt condolences to all of Billy’s family. I worked with Bill in Millwoods and have good memories of him. We had the best talks and laughs at my desk, many times. He loved to tell me about his nephew, and how proud he was of him. He always spoke so highly of all his family.
I will always remember his kindness.
Rest in Peace Billy.
