McKAY, Gayle

-
Gayle was born in Rouleau, SK to Elsie (Sonstelie) and Harry Perkins. She loved growing up on the farm with her sister Betty, and brothers Ernest, Roy, Dean, and Donn, and her horse, Blenheim.

She married Duncan McKay of Edmonton and was blessed with three daughters, Darla, Cathy, and Holly. Throughout her 90 years, she loved her snowbird winters in Phoenix with Duncan and numerous vacations with family and friends. Eternally young at heart, GG would look on the bright side and could always get everyone laughing. Gayle was “a riot” and loved by all who knew her.

Gayle was predeceased by her parents, Dora and Ernest, son-in-law Rick, husband Duncan, sister Betty, and brother Dean.

She is survived by brothers Roy and Donn (Glennys) Perkins, sister-in-law Dorothy Perkins, brothers-in-law Ross Hoyle and Duff Franklin; daughters Darla (John) Harrison, Cathy (Barry) Needer, & Holly Cueto;

8 grandchildren: Dana (Terry) Lakusta, David (Lisa) Harrison, Kaleigh (Kassidy) Hiemstra, Duncan Harrison, Bryce (Andrea) Needer, Brooke Needer (Jesse Reed), Elyse Cueto (Jeremy Hyde), & Logan Cueto; 12 great-grandchildren: Nathan, Kade, Carson, & Brooke Lakusta; Kruze, Kamryn, Reese, & Sawyer Hiemstra; Daniel Harrison Costanzo; and Blake, Easton, & Kate Needer; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and everyone’s pets. Grandma had a love for all animals, and they could always count on a little treat from Gayle.

At Gayle’s request, there will be no funeral.

We will love you forever, Mumsy.
