McCaffry (DeMarchi), Robin Gloria

It is with deep sorrow and endless love that we mourn the passing of Robin Gloria McCaffry after a long, hard fight and courageous battle with cancer. She passed surrounded by her husband (Mel), son (Dominic) and her two loving dogs Bella & Dolly.

Robin will be lovingly remembered by Mel, her husband of 30 years; son, Dominic and cousin, Dale Kulchisky.  As well as the “gang” in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where she and Mel would spend the winter months.

Robin had an extreme passion for animals and was very active in both the St. Albert and Puerto Vallarta communities’ efforts to rescue as many pets without homes as she could.

Robin also played a huge role in setting up the “St. Albert lost and found pets” Facebook page and it was not uncommon for her to be up all night helping strangers in need trying to find their lost companions.

Robin was predeceased by her father, William “Bill” McCaffry, and her brother James “Jim” McCaffry.

Memorial donations can be made in Robin’s name to any animal rescue of their choosing.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Oh Mel, I’m so sorry to hear of this deep loss of you and your son Dominique.
Unfortunately I never met Robin, but so many have just loved her dearly, and her strength during her struggle for life, and her choice of a Good man is a tribute to the kind of woman she was.
I know this is a very very difficult time, but rest assure she will always be with you and the love and the days you have shared will forever be with you as well, and in time they will all give you peace and you’ll recognize your very special blessings through the years you have known and loved her.
Wishing you peace, and knowing how many people care about you all.❣️

Dear Mel and Dominic. We were so sorry to hear about Robin. I had so much fun with her as she taught me in her own indomitable way how to play golf. She loved her family deeply and our conversations were so often about what they were doing followed by a lot of hard language at the golf ball. She had great spirit and joy for living. We are blessed with having known her.

Clint and Gaylene

So saddened by this news Mel. She was such a happy and vibrant woman and will be missed greatly. We have been so inspired by her ability to live life fully even while fighting the biggest battle of all. Robin’s passion and strength will live on through you, Dominic and her many many friends near and far.

Robin was the most beautiful, pure soul and her love and dedication to her family, furry companions and those needing rescue was something to behold. Her smile was infectious, she was brave and courageous and I will always remember her telling me this was her journey and not to be sad. My heart is broken and my deepest condolences go to Mel and her family. Robin’s legacy will live on in the work we do for rescue, and now she is on her final rescue – reuniting with Sydney on the other side. Her arrival at the Rainbow Bridge will be a great and solemn event, and as a tribute, she will perform one final act of rescue, escorting those poor animals they couldn’t place
on earth across the Rainbow Bridge. God speed my friend – until we meet again. I love you and I miss you.

My sincerest condolences to Mel and Dominique and Bella and Dolly. Robin will always be someone i was in awe of, her energy and commitment to animal wellness was unbelievable. She made such an impact to the animals in the city of St. Albert as well as the rescue in Puerto Vallarta. I considered her a friend and always looked forward to seeing her and Mel and getting updates on the pups. She has made a difference in this world and will be so missed. I will make a donation on her behalf to calican rescue for her dolly.

Clif & Linda Evans

Our love and condolences to you and Dominique and your four legged family. Sadly we didn’t spend a lot of time with Robin but she was so gracious when we came to your second home. Our deepest sympathy.

Lisa Wood

I met Robin while we searched for Sydney in 2013, camping out overnight, baiting traps and putting up hundreds of posters. She was an angel to the animals and she is now at the rainbow bridge watching over those who we have lost over the years. We lost touch the last few years, but I will always remember her as loyal, and a fighter to the end. Much love to Mel, Dominic, and her beloved Bella and Dolly

Lisa Hoff

Robin will always hold a very special place in my heart. We had many late night adventures over the past years and I am so very grateful for every moment we spent together. Her loss leaves a huge hole in our St. Albert community. My deepest condolences to her family.
