Maynard Jorgensen


It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maynard Jorgensen of the Berrymoor, Alberta area at the U of A Hospital on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the age of 75 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Yaneisy Quevedo; children, Donna Jorgensen (Provas Das), Suzanne Gero, Darren Jorgensen, Tanya Jorgensen (Iwan Slotboom), Eric (Kelly) Jorgensen and Anne Quevedo; grandchildren, Scott Gero, Kris Gero, Shopan “Bunny” Das, Marlena Jorgensen-Das and Steele Jorgensen; sisters, Mary Hopgood, Carla Cox and Edna Van Ember; as well as by several extended family and many life-long friends.

Maynard was predeceased by his parents, Sibrandt and May Jorgensen and sisters, Dorothy Mae Derrick and Caroline Bogart.

Maynard’s Life will be Celebrated at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch #269, 5204 – 51 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Dwayne Henley officiating.

For those who so desire, memorial contributions in Maynard’s name may be made directly to the Mazankowski Heart Institute, 11220 83 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2J2.

Had the pleasure of Maynard supervising our drilling operations for 3-4 years. A genuine good guy and a funny character. He always made me laugh during morning calls. Talking to Maynard in the morning was a good way to start the day.
