It was with great sadness and much love that we said goodbye to our beloved son and brother on Friday, October 3, 2014 surrounded by the love of his family. Our beautiful son Marshal was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his mother Heather; father Brian (Lisa Pyne); brothers Brandon (Kalyn Lecky) and Dylan (Kylie Conway); grandparents, Dan and Janet Burns, Bill and Carol Warkentin; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and close friends Justin Maters and Jaclyn Wadden.
Marshal brought twenty-four years of absolute joy to our family and will be forever missed. He demonstrated his drive for living while still trying to care for others. Marshal will live on in our hearts forever.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all staff of Unit 5F4 of the University of Alberta Hospital during Marshal’s stay there.
A Celebration of Marshal’s Life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Elephant & Castle, 10314 – 82 Avenue NW, Edmonton.
Marshal had been very strong over the past 2 years battling cancer and cherished his time with his family at Camp Trillium as a child.

Shalom, Marshal. Also Shalom to your family. Shalom means peace, soundness, tranquility, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, and the absence of agitation or discord. It also means to be perfect and full. I wish this of all of you.

No one should outlive their kids, and everyone should live to be “old” and happy. I still remember all the boys but much smaller than they are now. I’m so glad we could be part of all your lives and I hope all the happy memories live on forever, the rest don’t matter. Keep them in your heart and know Marshal will always be with you … I’m sure of that !
Edith and Todd xoxo

Although I did not know Marshall in his final years I remember a vibrant young boy at Nursery School. Nothing got him down, he was a trooper. Even when my daughter was in Sick Kids, Heather and Marshall took time to come to our floor to visit. May you be at peace now Marshall. You are a hero, and fought the toughest battle of all. Hugs to Heather and the boys!
Your nursery school teacher, Debbie

There are so many Marshal stories that I can tell, especially the ones when he was growing up. But the one I want to share is, all the times, that I had called him during the last two years, he was always positive and upbeat! He was very brave and an inspiration. We will miss you every day and you will always be in ours thoughts and in our heart.
Love,
Aunt Colleen and Uncle Phil
