HOSTIN, Mark James

Suddenly at home on October 17, 2015, Mark James Hostin passed away at the age of 45 years.

He leaves to mourn his loss his parents George and Rosemary; daughter Alicia; brother Paul (Cheryl); nieces: Andrea and Celene; brother David (Tina); niece Rachel; nephews: Colson and Taylor; sisters: Jean (Randy), Jane (Steve), as well as many relatives and friends.

Mark spent 14 years in Broadcasting, starting out in St. Paul, than moving on to Medicine Hat and finally working a morning show in Edmonton. As much as he enjoyed Radio, unfortunately his career was cut short due to ill health. Mark loved to make people laugh and was excellent at voice impressions. He was a true friend, a real gentleman and a gentle soul.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Parish, 12810-111 Avenue, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers donations in Mark’s honour may be made to The Canadian Mental Health Association.

I was Mark’s neighbour and friend for many years at the same apartment complex. I lost contact with Mark after he moved a couple of times and then I moved. Mark and I became friends over our passion for hockey and the Oilers. We thoroughly had a blast when the Oilers went on their 2006 Cup run. I will never forget Mark coming with me as I drove my Oiler decorated car up and down Jasper Avenue when the Oilers won the Western Conference. I just found out now in 2017. My condolences to Mark’s family. RIP my Oiler’s friend and may God give you the peace you deserve.

Our heartfelt condolenses go out to the entire Hostin Family in this time of sadness. I remember Mark as a little whipper snapper when I hung out with his brother Paul back in our younger teen (adult?) years. Mark may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
God Bless.
