It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our patriarch Mr. Salvatore Marino. He was born in Figline Vegliaturo, province of Cosenza, Italy and passed away peacefully on July 4, 2021 in Edmonton at the age of 98.
He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by Assunta, his wife of 61 years, 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Denise (William), Antonella (Tony), and son Marco (Rosanna); 4 grandchildren: Michelle, Jessica (Asim), Eric (Caitlin), and Bella; 2 great grandchildren: Avery and Maksim.
Salvatore’s passing will also be mourned by: 3 sisters in Italy: Flora, Barbara, and Maria; his brother Franco in Germany; nephew Ignazio Marino (Gloria) in Italy, and his family in Edmonton; niece Carmela Marino and nephew John Marino both of Edmonton; 6 sisters-in-law, and their families: Vanda (Guglielmo), Adele, Laura (Salvatore), Vincenza (Vincenzo), Marcella (Robert),
and many more nieces, nephews, family, and friends in Canada and Italy.
Salvatore was predeceased by his parents Carmine and Emilia; 3 sisters: Adelina, Irma, Ida; 3 brothers: Giovanni, Luigi (late Vitalia), Guido; his aunt-in-law Laura DeFranco,
and parents-in-law Fedele and Maria Marazita.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday July 13, 2021 at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue, Edmonton.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father George Puramadathil, CFIC officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery 13819-82 Street, Edmonton.
