Silvana Patella

Dear Flavia, Millie, Marisa, Lori, and Roger:

Zia Maria Giuseppa was a beautiful caring soul! I can still remember the many Sundays when my father after mass would take my brothers and I to your home where she served us all a beautiful Italian lunch (pastasciutta e carne stufata) and then stuffed our pockets full of Social tea cookies to eat on the bus on the way home. We absolutely loved her as she became our second mother as our own mother worked on Sundays. We always loved coming to your home to visit: we not only had fun with you cousins but we always looked forward to caffe e latte with toast (tosto, as we called it). Those days were simple times but very important times where your mom made us children feel as it we were hers.

Please take pride in having a mother as her and treasure in her many memories. We are certainly at a loss without her earthly presence but rest assured that she is looking down from heaven along with Uncle Albert and your brother smiling and still giving you that comfort and courage needed at this difficult time. May the Lord accept her into His Heavenly Banquet and may she cherish in His many rewards.

With heartfelt sympathy,
Silvana, Trieste, Joe, Ida, and Michael
Windsor, Ontario
