It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Margaret Elma Gillie on August 17, 2015, at the age of 71 after a courageous 16 year battle with cancer. Margaret passed with family by her side. Magaret is survived and will be remembered by her loving husband of 53 years Allan, daughter Cheryl, son Richard (Ann), son Trevor (Donna); grandchildren Thyra, Mathew, Angela, Rhiannon, Natasha, Cameron, Nathan, Tyler, David as well her sisters Helen, Susan, Mary (Bill), Diana, Evelyn (Roy), and her brothers Peter (Diane) and John (Jean).
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church (1A Fieldstone Drive) in Spruce Grove on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, donations can be made in her memory to the Cross Cancer Institute at 11560-University Ave, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
A special thank you to Dr. Tonkin and the research nurse Shelley Sass at the the Cross Cancer Institute; and the staff at the Westview Health Centre, Stony Plain for their kindness and Exceptional Care of our dear Margaret.
