It is with great sadness and much love that we say “until we meet again” to our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Charles Magnusson, who passed away June 15, 2020 at the age of 80 years.
Charles is lovingly remembered by his wife of over 52 years, Ann; his three daughters, Laura (Steven), Joy and Patricia Ocares (Cesar); siblings Melvin (Aline), Lyn Young and Dennis (Celsa); his four grandchildren Dakota, Levon, Cara and Xavier; traditionally adopted daughter Karen Schofield (Ken) and her daughters Jasmine and Summer-Rose; and so many other relations and dear friends who became family throughout his long life. Charles was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Bedard, and his parents, Clifton and Irene.
A small Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 10031 109 Street, Edmonton, Alberta. Due to COVID-19, in-person seating is limited to specific attendees only, who will be contacted by the family. The family would be honoured to have all others attend to celebrate his life with us as they can by video link, which will be made available in the coming days at https://serenity.ca/serenity-obituaries/magnusson-charles-robert-live-stream-link/.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all those who reached out to Charles, and to the family, during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.

We always enjoyed when Charles would come to our music store (Lillos Music) and play the accordion. Sometimes he would buy another accordion, or just come to visit. God bless you Ann, as we know you will miss him dearly.

I am so very sorry to hear of Charles passing. I have so many memories though out my life of Charles thoughtfulness and caring. I always found him to be such a gentle and caring man. A person whose quiet presence will be deeply missed at family’s gatherings. I have very sweet memories of Charles warm acceptance of Dean when I first started bringing him to family gatherings. I am also sorry that the restrictions of these times prevent us from showing you, his family, how loved he was. I am holding all of you in my thoughts and prayers and know that I am here if there anything you need. Much love to you all.
