LUCY-OLSVIK, Leah Marie
1981 – 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Leah Marie Lucy-Olsvik announce her passing at Wetaskiwin on June 22, 2020 at the age of 38. Leah will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rylan and Noah; her mother, Brenda Bailer and stepdad, Ron Bailer; sisters, Jessica Bailer (Kyle Sali), and Dallas Lucy; brother, Ty Lucy and numerous relatives and friends. Leah was predeceased by her father, John Wesley Lucy; grandparents, Andrew and Lucy Olsvik, and soulmate, Clinton Kapchinsky.
Leah’s love for her children was apparent in her life and in her home. Every room was decorated with pictures and artwork from Rylan and Noah, who she cherished dearly. Leah was a beautiful and intelligent mother, daughter, and sister. Her love for Rylan and Noah helped her to overcome her lifelong struggle with addiction. Leah left us too soon, losing her battle with kidney disease. Her love, compassion, and care were felt by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed and never forgotten. May you finally rest in peace dear Leah. Leah will be laid to rest with her beloved grandparents in Parkside, Saskatchewan at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, an education trust fund has been set up for Leah’s children. In lieu of flowers, contributions to this fund would be gratefully accepted. Anyone wishing to contribute can make the cheque payable to Jessica Bailer (please write “In trust for Rylan and Noah Olsvik” on the memo line) The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, love and support during this tough time.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 1 pm at the Lighthouse Fellowship Church (3725 56 Street, Wetaskiwin, AB). A time of fellowship and refreshments to follow (471022 Range Rd 251).
