LOUISE AGNES WITSCHEN (CUMMINGS)
October 24, 1937 – September 10, 2013
Louise passed away peacefully at the Venta Care Centre in Edmonton, AB at the age of 75. She had been in long term care for several years with diabetes and dementia.
Many will remember Louise for her love of life, her infectious laughter, sharp wit, her entertaining sense of humour and ability to make everyone feel at home. She was an employee of Edmonton Telephones for 17 years and later in life she sold real estate in Ft. McMurray. She lived all her life in Edmonton except for the several years she lived in Ft. McMurray. She was passionate about her family, home, history and art.
Louise is predeceased by her parents, Frank Cummings and Josephine (Caouette) Bristow, and also her daughter, Debbie.
Louise and Walter were married in Edmonton, AB on October 21, 1954. They have been married for 58 years. Walter, when his own health allowed, did not miss a day visiting with and tending Louise over the past several years. She will be greatly missed by Walter.
Louise is survived by her daughter Terry-Lynn (Michael) Babin of Onoway, AB, and son Walter Witschen Jr. of Edmonton, AB. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Eric (Elena) Babin, Justine Babin, Jesse (Charlotte) Witschen, Erin Witschen, Matthew Witschen, and Zachary Witschen. Precious to her are her great-grandchildren: Nicolas, Mikel, Deanna, Kasia, Triston, Evelina, and Gionna. Also mourning her passing are: her brother Ed (Glenna) Cummings of Gran Isle, BC; her sister Colleen Malpas of Bashaw, AB; her sister Darlene (Doug) Carper of Logan Lake, BC and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at The Christian Life Centre, 10123 – Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta on Friday September 20th at 10:30 am with Pastor Gordon Powell officiating.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for all the love and care Louise received from the staff at the Venta Care Centre for the past several years.
