Loretta Ann Welsh

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta Ann Welsh at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on the morning of Friday, September 16, 2016 at the age of 65 years. After spending many years in Innisfail, Loretta and Don discovered Birchwood Village, making it their home. Over the years, Loretta developed many loves – camping, golfing, scrapbooking, gardening, travel and the time she would spend volunteering– but none of this could ever compare to the immense love she had for her family and friends. Loretta will be forever loved and greatly missed by her husband, Don; children, Kirby and Crystal; six sisters, Diane (Jim), Judy (Pat), Shirley (Don), Liz, Christina (David) and Karen; mother-in-law, Hilda and Don’s siblings and their families. Loretta will also be incredibly missed by her extended family and the many, many friends she and Don have been blessed with over the years. Lorretta was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jaycee; parents, Johanna and Henry Vandenmeele and her step-dad, Gordon Reid. In honour of Loretta’s life, a Celebration will be held at Life Church, 5115 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Loretta’s name may be directed to CT4DV www.dvhealthfound.ca or Cross Cancer Institute www.albertacancer.ca
