LOHNDORF, Gordon Donald

-

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gordon on June 14, 2018 as a result of a tragic accident in Devon, AB on June 11, 2018.

Gordon Donald Lohndorf was born in Edmonton, AB on April 18, 1957.  He was raised in Calmar, AB where he attended school, played football and hung with friends.  He moved to Devon in his twenties where he remained until his passing.  Gord was a gentle soul with a kind and giving heart.  He worked for Home Hardware as a commodity buyer in Wetaskiwin for 22 years until he retired due to physical limitations in November, 2016.  Gord, always a giving person, continues to do so even in passing as a registered organ donor and has already changed the life of one person with the gift of a kidney.  Gord loved spending summers at the campground with family and friends.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer who travelled to BC many times to do so.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Ursula Lohndorf; daughters Nicole Deguire and Michele Deguire (Mark King) of Brampton, ON; grandsons Hunter and Colton of Brampton, ON; brother Dennis (Linda) Lohndorf of Leduc, AB; nephews Travis and Ryan of Leduc, AB; sister-in-law Lorna (Jim) McIntyre of Devon, AB; as well as numerous family and close and dear friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Devon, AB on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. (cremation to follow), with visitation from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.  Luncheon will follow the service.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Ursula. Our hearts hurt with Gords passing. We loved having Gord and you as our neighbour at the park. We have been talking about the laughs we had with Gord and also those at his expense. Remember the mice, the hotdog and the shed It was our pleasure and privilege to have called him our friend.
Love from Chuck and Dale
