Lloyd George Walter Louden


LOUDEN, Lloyd George Walter October 3, 1919 – August 16, 2013 Passed away peacefully, at home after a brief illness. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Louden (Puffer) (3 April 2013) and dear father of Janet (Wade Simpson). Predeceased by parents Dr. T.G. Louden and Mabel Louden (Roberts), sister Margaret (Anderson) and brother Harold.Lloyd was born in Toronto in 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in March 1943, took flight training in Fort McLeod, Alberta and Abbotsford, B.C. and was discharged in February 1945. He met Mildred in Peterborough, Ontario in 1945 and married in 1948, moving with her to Edmonton in 1953 where he opened a branch office for Fruehauf Trailer Company and he worked until his retirement in 1984. Lloyd was always eager to try new things, meet new people and seek new adventures.He loved life, but above all he loved his family.His legacy can be summed up in the following: He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; Who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty or failed to express it; Who has left the world better than he found it, Whether an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; Who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; Whose life was an inspiration; Whose memory a benediction. Bessie Anderson Stanley, 1904 Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Edmonton and in Lakefield, Ontario.
