SMYTHE, Lillian Lydia (nee Schug)

Lillian passed away peacefully in Edmonton. She was born and raised on the family farm 10 miles south of Provost by her parents, Alfred & Caroline (Schneider) along with four brothers and two sisters. She attended Eye Hill School and later obtained employment as an operator for Alberta Government Telephones in Provost. Lillian later accepted a transfer to Edmonton where she met John, and the two were wed in September of 1951. Together, they raised their family in the Queen Alexandra and Balwin communities. Their children are Judy, Bonnie, Earl (Jackie), Ian/Ronald (Perlita) and Jeanette, all of Edmonton and area.
Lillian is survived by her sister Laurene Schug of Blairmore, all of her children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John in December, 2010.
The funeral service and interment along with her husband’s cremated remains, will take place at the historic Rosenheim Catholic Church, south east of Provost, where they were married. The funeral is on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 with viewing at 10:00 am, and the service at 11:00 am.
