In Remembrance of Lewis Wesley Foster Atchewan Reeder, April 2, 1922 – April 30, 2018.
It is with sorrow mingled with the joy that comes by faith, that the family of Lewis Wesley Foster Atchewan Reeder announces his passing on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the age of 96. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Irvie, with whom he was celebrating their 70th year of marriage; and by his sons Ken (Diana) Winnipeg, MB, Glenn (Dorothy) Sundre, AB, Don (Susan) York, ON, and Stan (Janet) Happy Valley, OR. Grandpa will be remembered for his raised eye brow and twinkle in his eye by Julia (Richard), Jennifer, Kimberly (Chris), Luke (Soon Nam), Sarah (James), Reed (Whitney), Zachary, and Mitchell, and Great Pop’s time was too short with his great grandchildren, Caydence, Bronwynn, Tayvee, Preston, Kyle, , Charlie, Ha-Rang, and Kody. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. Wesley was predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Ora (Claude Ewans), Stella (Tom Thomas), and Vera (Maurice Westmacott).
Interment at the Glenwood Cemetery will be 1:30 pm on Friday, July 6, 2018, for the immediate family. All family and friends are invited to join the Service of Celebration of Wesley’s life at the Edmonton Southside Church of the Nazarene (10712 29 Ave. NW, Edmonton) on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm. There will be a time of visiting and light refreshments at the church immediately following the service.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Sundre Long Term Care and the nurses, doctors, and staff who gave Wesley such wonderful care the last few months of his life and for their support shown to his family who visited.
Memorial donations in Wesley’s honour may be made directly to The Canadian Bible Society or to The Siloam Mission, a street level Nazarene Compassionate Ministry Centre. Cards for these expressions of sympathy will also be available at the Service of Celebration.
