It is with a spirit of thanksgiving for a life well lived that we, the family, sadly announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister and Oma, Katie Streu at the age of 80.
Katie was born in 1937 in Aleksandrow, Poland. She was the second daughter of 6 children born to Tabea and Albert Redschlag. Katie and her family immigrated to Canada and settled down in Edmonton in 1951. She met her husband Otto and they were married in 1956 and were blessed to have 3 children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest brother Art (Irma). Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Otto Streu and children, Rudy (Brenda), Doris (Brad), Dwight (Roxanne). She was loved by her 7 grandchildren: Melissa (Phil), Jordon (Briana), Amanda (Austin), Kelsey, Courtney, Haley and Sydney and three great granddaughters: Clara, Kylin and Peyton. She will also be missed by her three siblings: Albert (Erna), Assaph (Erika) and Kurt, as well as by many other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Mill Woods Shepherd’s Care who showed so much care and compassion to Katie during her final years.
