Lawrence John Polansky


January 22, 1947 – January 4, 2014
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Larry Polansky of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Judy, daughters Cora-Lee, and Keri (Ryan), grandsons Grady, Knixon, and Reeve, brothers Ken (Mary-Beth), Jerry (Roberta), Ed (Laurie), Colin (Shelley), sister Lorraine (Frank), and many special nephews, nieces, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Victoria, brother, Richard, and Godson, Andy.
Larry will be remembered for his numerous good works with the Edmonton Police Department, including the Barney the Safety Bear Program, involvement in Sport Central, and as an inner-city school liaison officer. Those who loved him most treasured his humour, gentle heart, and love of cooking.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 15 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Angels Church (10004 – 101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan) with Reverend Frances Mariappa, SAC officiating. A lunch to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion No. 27 (9964-93 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan).
