Larry Kondro

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Larry Kondro on May 30, 2015, at the age of 76 years.

Cherishing his memory are daughters: Kelly (Rudy and their daughter Taylor) of Sherwood Park, Shauna (Barry and their children Natalie and Nathan) of Flower Mound, Texas, and Tracey (Brent and their son Cody) of Sherwood Park; common-law spouse Marlene Johnstone and her family; his four legged best friend, Tiki; brothers: Harold (Ethel) of Ft. Saskatchewan and Len (Karyn) of Sturgeon County; sister Claudette (Chester) of Redwater; friend and cousin Ken (Marg) of Edmonton and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Dad was predeceased by his baby boy; parents Russell and Anne; granddaughter Shelby and the mother of his daughters, Donna in 2014.

Dad worked hard and was dedicated to the hardware business with Home Hardware for 50 years. In retirement, Dad will be remembered as the Perogy King in our family. He loved his volunteer time at Holy Cross Church and the Bingo Hall. Dad loved spending holidays with family, watching sports, travelling around the world with Marlene and fishing with his brother Len and his nephews.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Misericordia Hospital for their amazing care during Dad’s illness.

Divine Liturgy Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:00 am, by Father Janko Herbut, at Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 – 153 Avenue, Edmonton, AB.

Cremation has been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Service.

Larry was the best neighbor ever. ! Always ready with a laugh and a smile.
Supplied us with perogies for a long time.
Dont know where we will get our perogies now.
He will be truly missed over the back fence..

Larry was a tremendous presence at Home Hardware-both among colleagues from Head office and also with the Home Dealers. He was highly respected by all, and his dedication and devotion to Home Hardware will always be held with tremendous regard. He was not only a co-worker but a true friend. He was a mentor to many and his strong loyalty to Home is carried on by those whom he took under his wing. Larry and I travelled countless miles together, shared a lot of laughs, and I have an abundance of fond memories that I will forever cherish. I, along with so many others from Home, will miss him dearly.

My fondest memory is I worked for him at the homehardware warehouse on St. Albert trail … Another fond memory was when we went camping with him and Mona at the brazeau river … I will miss seeing him at the bingo all ….
