LANGE, Sabina (Bucher/Kratschmar)

Sabina (Bucher/Kratschmar) Lange, our much loved Mother and Oma, passed away peacefully at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Lange.

Sabina was born in Seeg, Germany, one of 10 children of Engelbert Bucher and Sofie (Schneider) Bucher. Sabina spent her childhood in Oberthingau and apprenticed as a seamstress in Kaufbeuren. She emigrated to Edmonton, Canada in 1961 where she quickly made new friends. She had many talents including sewing, singing, cooking and baking. She loved flowers and cultivated beautiful gardens. Sabina and Herb enjoyed travelling and trailer camping, making friends along the way. Both were extremely sociable and loved to entertain. Sabina’s favourite memories include the house parties they hosted and dances at the German Canadian Club in Edmonton. Sabina is remembered by many friends for her kindness, her gregarious nature and her natural ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering.

Sabina is survived by her children; Connie Boyce (Ian Hardman) and Rosemarie Kratschmar; and her grandchildren Tom Boyce (Victoria Pearson) and Ryan Boyce, who will miss her dearly. She is also remembered by her sisters Emmi Bucher and Clair Bucher and many nieces and nephews in Germany.
Our thanks and gratitude go out to all the wonderful staff at Choice, Dr. Gerald Zetter Centre, Edmonton. We have appreciated your kindness and the care you provided, especially in her final days.

Arrangements are entrusted to Serenity Funeral Services.
A celebration of Sabina’s life will be held at Heimtal Moravian Church (5315 127 St SW, Edmonton) on Tuesday, June 21 at 11:00 am.
