LABRENTZ, Randall (Randy) Reinhardt

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Randall Labrentz of Edmonton at the age of 55 years.  Randy was an only child and he was predeceased by his father Reinhardt in 2010.  He is survived by his mother, Waltraut Labrentz.  Randy accepted the Lord Jesus as his Saviour while he was a teenager.  He graduated from the University of Alberta in his twenties and also attended the radio and television program at NAIT.

Throughout his life, Randy loved music, animals, and reading.  Later in life, Randy faced a number of issues related to his health and he struggled with these until his passing. He is now free of all these burdens and is at peace.

Randy will be lovingly remembered by a large group of family including his mother, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins as well as a number of friends.  May he find comfort in God’s loving care.

Due to Covid-19 guidelines, a private graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on December 8, 2020 at South Haven Cemetery in Edmonton and will be livestreamed online for all other friends and family by Serenity Funeral Service.

A link to the live stream will be available at so anyone who wishes to may join.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

He was a very close friend during our NAIT years together. We grew apart, but it’s not because I stopped trying to reach out. I’m absolutely gutted that I didn’t get a chance to reconnect with him again.
