Kyler John Lansink

-

It is with tremendous sorrow and the heaviest of hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Kyler John Lansink at Stollery Children’s Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the age of 12 years, as the result of an accident. It comforts us that Kyler will live on in the five people whose lives he has saved through organ donation. Although he was only twelve, Kyler lived an extremely full and happy life; fortunate to be involved in many team sports and partake in many family vacations. Kyler loved everything about the outdoors and anything that involved wheels and balls – quadding, skiing, scootering, BMX, boxing, baseball, basketball and mini sticks, to name a few of his favorites. Kyler was a very caring and loving young man and in return, was deeply loved by many, with a circle of friends too great to name. Kyler will forever be lovingly remembered by his parents, Jamie and Geoff; little sisters, Jayden and Shelby; grandparents, Rick and Phyllis Turple and John and Claudia Lansink; aunts and uncles, Michael (Debbie), Shelly (Daryl) and Brian (Alexandria); cousins, Brian, Lindsey, Cassie, Dena, Tori and Hannah; as well as by many extended family, countless friends and fellow students and teaching staff at Aurora Elementary School. Kyler’s bright and beautiful life was celebrated at Aurora Elementary School in Drayton Valley on Saturday, May 9, 2015. A Trust Account in Kyler’s name has been established at Scotiabank, Drayton Valley (Account # 21279 02556 88 Transit # 21279) for those wishing to provide financial assistance to the Lansink family.

I remember my husband, my Mom and Dad and I visiting Kyler as a newborn baby — his parents beaming with pride. My Dad, John Reid, passed away on December 6, 2004. I am sure Grandpa is watching over Kyler now.
