KUGLER, Rita Marie

1930 – 2022

Our dear mom died in the early morning of Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Rita (“Joe Hauber’s daughter”) was very proud of and fondly recalled her family’s early years when her mother, Rose, and her father, Joseph, lived on a homestead near Mayview, SK. Her courage and fortitude were forged during these challenging days of the 1930s and 1940s. Mom faced many hardships throughout her life, and through it all, her love for her children was her first priority. Her deep faith sustained her. Her hand-written note in her bedside table reads: “Keep me safe O God, You are my hope.”

Rita is lovingly remembered by her seven children: Marcia, Herb (Esther), Christina (Dean), Danita (Pat), Merlin (Della), Marlene (Dean), and Laura; her daughter-in-law Peggy; her grandchildren: Marc, Dawn, Victoria, Shannon, Keith, Samantha, Megan, Adam, Taurean, Teasha, and Simon (and their spouses) and by her many great-grandchildren.

Our mom was loved by many and was always so grateful for the kindnesses she received. We give thanks for friends, neighbours, and extended family whose love and concern were a source of great support.

As her children, we give thanks for her deep abiding love, and for her constant care and concern for our wellbeing and happiness. We pray that her strength, fortitude, and courage live on and long in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rita was predeceased by her husband, George, and her brothers: Joseph and Larry.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish 10555 50A Street, Edmonton. with Reverend Mitch Fidyka officiating. Viewing one-hour prior. Cremation to follow.
