On June 6, 2022, Duane Kuefler of Hardisty, Alberta passed away at the age of 70. Duane was born in Galahad, Alberta, the son of Norbert Kuefler and Anne Dryden. In September of 1980, he married Tracy Brown and together they raised their daughter Meghann who was born in October 1984.

Duane was a member of The Plumber and Pipefitters Union being initiated in December of 1977 and maintained his membership even thou he retired from welding in 2014.

Although retired from his trade, Duane kept very busy with his music metal art and woodworking. He was well known for his metal roses and custom musical designs. He was very proud that he was able to showcase his works at the Strathcona Farmers Market for two years and various other craft venues. Duane was known for his good sense of humor and love to chat.

Duane was preceded in death by his brother Joe (1978), his niece Angie (2001), his father Norbert (2006), his brother Dan (2009), and his stepmother Marg (2022). He is survived by his wife Tracy, daughter Meghann (Mark) Horricks, grandchildren McCartney, Reznor and Morrissey, as well as his mother Anne, sister Debra, brother Tony, brother-in-law Rick, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the New Sarepta Agriplex (5088 1st Ave, New Sarepta, AB)

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Mental Health Association or The Bladder Cancer of Canada Association.

I am so sorry to hear of Duanes passing.
I remember him bringing his tiger torch
to the lake once and using it to dry the firewood.
Only Duane would think of that he was so funny!
I think we were the only ones with a fire that night
