With heavy hearts, we announce the tragic death of Kevin William Sim, 21.
Born in Edmonton, Kevin grew up in the Riverbend community. He attended Earl Buxton Elementary, Riverbend Junior High, and Lillian Osborne High School. He played hockey from Pre-Novice through 3rd year Midget, with Knights of Columbus, SWAT, and Southwest Zone.
Kevin will be sorely missed by his parents Lily (Ng) and Stewart; older brother Brandon and younger brother Bradley; paternal grandparents Siew Hock and Yuet Ngo Sim; maternal grandmother Nancy Ng.
He leaves behind loving aunts and uncles: Bill and Karena Lee, Jeffrey and Shirley Yong, Chris and Susan Pang, Steven Sim and Lynn Tran, Raymond and Bonnie Ng, Mary Ng, Howard Ng, Hong Ng; and many dear cousins: Wilson Lee, Clement Lee, Jaqueline Lee, John and Tiffanie Phong, Shane Morris and Jannesa Yong- Morris, Jonathon Yong and Michelle Nguyen, Gordon Leung and Katie Wickland, Joshuah Leung and Elyse Kelba, Adam Maisonnette and Alexandra Leung, Jerome Pang, Jermain Pang, Alexia Pang, Vivian Sim, Ericka Sim, Johnathon Ng and Lan Phan, Melissa Ng, Jenny Ng, Lucas Phong, Cooper Phong, JJ Yong-Morris, Isaac Yong-Morris, Elena Ng; as well as countless close friends.
Kevin had a big heart; he was genuine, kind, and ever considerate. He loved to be around family and friends. With an infectious smile and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Kevin was cherished by many. His unique habits and antics were familiar and appreciated by all who knew him. A community is heartbroken and will forever remember his beautiful soul.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at Terwillegar Community Church, 1751 Towne Centre Blvd NW, Edmonton. Interment to follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Sherwood Park, AB.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for memorial donations in Kevin’s name to Crystal Kids Youth Centre.

We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of Kevin. Miranda has many classroom memories as well as playing hockey on Stewart’s SWAT team with Kevin. I remember all his comical antics in the dressing room, which brought smiles all around. We are unable to make the service but extend our deepest condolences to the entire family.
