On January 20, Ken Taylor passed away in his 97th year.
Ken was predeceased by his wife Lorraine, his 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Ken is survived by his loving family; children Pat Barber, Kathy (Terry) Kureluk, Gord (Kate) Taylor; four grandchildren Brad, Andrea, Megan, Jesse (Melissa); nine great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law Maxine and Doreen.
After being shot down over Germany at the young age of 20, surviving 13 months in a POW camp Ken went on to live for 76 more years. He had a very successful career with the Alberta government retiring after 35 years of work. During his working years and well into his retirement he spent many hours at his hobby farm. Ken enjoyed 42 years of retirement and remained active in the community. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years and shared his story every Remembrance Day with the younger generation by speaking at schools.
In later years he enjoyed a daily walk continuing to make new friends along the way.
The family would like to thank the staff of Capital Care Strathcona, Harvest House for the very warm and loving care they gave to Dad in his last year.
A Private family graveside service has been held; A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be announced later in the year.
