Kenneth Stuparek
1931 – 2015

Surrounded by family and loved ones, Kenneth Ervin Stuparek of Edmonton, Alberta passed away quietly Sunday, November 1st at 11:00 am after a brief battle with late stage cancer. He was 84.

Ken was born October 19th, 1931, in Vegreville, Alberta to parents Bill and Ida who had four children, including Ken’s brothers Russell and Gary, and sister Carol.

Ken had two children with his first wife Elizabeth; Daryl who is survived by his wife Terry-Ann after passing away in 2008, and Blair, currently living in Edmonton, with partner Sheri.

Ken is survived by wife Judy Carter whom he married in 1984. He was a caring step-father to her son Tom Carter of Calgary and a loving grandfather to Elliot and Oliver Carter, also of Calgary.
Ken retired in 1990 after a 37 year career in the electrical utility industry. His retirement afforded him more time to play bridge, golf and indulge his interest in wine making.

For 59 years Ken was an honored and active member of the Masonic Order, including the Royal Order of Scotland, the Scottish Rite bodies, and the Shriners.

Ken always enjoyed socializing with friends who will miss his welcoming smile and easy demeanor.

A memorial service will be held on Friday November 6th at 3:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Ave NW, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Scottish Rite Charitable foundation, 10318 – 100 Ave. NW, Edmonton, AB, T5J 0A2 or to a charity of your choice.
