Mary Kashuba, nee Grigorovici, suddenly passed away on September 24, 2022 in Edmonton at age 84.

Mary grew up on the farm near Craigend, Alberta and started waitressing at the age of 17. She met Mike at a barn dance and they were married in 1957. A year later, they moved to Vancouver, BC where they raised 4 daughters while enjoying the mild winters and warm summers at the beach. Mary continued waitressing at various restaurants always greeting customers with a smile. In 1977, the family moved to Edmonton and she continued her career until retiring in 2003.

Mary felt that phone calls were very important in connecting with family and friends especially with her grandchildren which always brought joy to her heart. Mary enjoyed playing cards, doing word search puzzles, watching her favourite TV shows and learning new card games. She was a devoted member of her church and enjoyed the laughter while helping at perogy and cabbage roll making bees.

She is predeceased by her husband Mike, daughter Darlene, parents: Eli and Anastasia, in-laws William and Katie, sister and brother-in-law Ann and Jerry, brothers: Peter and John, brother-in-law Steve and niece Sophia.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters: Margie ( Brian ), Donna, Diane ( Joe ), grandchildren: Steven (Cassie ), Nicole ( James ), Lindsey ( Jeff ) and Breanne; great granddaughter Payton, sister-in-law Jennie and many other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10:00 am in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 153 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I remember her from family gatherings in my younger days. She always seemed so happy and I specifically remember her laugh. Hopefully your memories of your mom will never fade but the sadness does.
